Invoking themes of desolation, chaos and punishment, Misþyrming came onto the icelandic black metal scene in 2015 with this devistating blow of a record. The music flows much like how the island nation was shaped; cataclysmic waves tearing apart lava flows while the sulfurous air rains down cooling new patches. Moments of melodic clarity are often entrenched by frenzied riffs lasting until one is spent, only to be given another respite for a breath. Misþyrming are easily one of the major driving forces of not only the Icelandic black metal scene, but the entire genre itself.
