Northern Krig return with their most aggressive and uncompromising release to date. The Norwegian black metal band will unleash their new full-length album, “Worship Files For Anthropophagolagnia Predators”, on the 15th of February this year, pushing their sound deeper into raw brutality and absolute darkness.
The lineup features Morfran on vocals and guitar, Miasma on bass and guitar, and Maikon Q. on drums, with guest vocals by Koldbrynger from Germany. Active since 2021, Northern Krig have steadily carved out their place in the extreme black metal scene with a single, an EP, a split, and their debut full-length “Concept Of A Suicidal Journey”. With their new album, the band takes a step forward and deliver a record that is shorter, harsher, and straight to the point.
Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, “Worship Files For Anthropophagolagnia Predators” is a relentless assault of raw black metal. The record is mostly relying on constant blast beats, vicious riffing, and sinister vocals, leaving no room for restraint. This is black metal at its most unapologetic - it’s dark, violent and primal. The new material sounds heavier, more aggressive, and noticeably more mature - the songwriting is more polished and focused and the raw production only adds to the oppressive atmosphere. Lyrically and thematically, the album dives into disturbing territories, confronting topics such as assault, rape, torment and murder.
With “Worship Files For Anthropophagolagnia Predators”, Northern Krig prove they are not at all interested in compromise. This is raw Norwegian black metal, sharpened to the bone and aimed straight at the throat.
